Wolverhampton Wanderers should cut their losses with Patrick Cutrone after comments made to his followers on Instagram Live were relayed by Fiorentina.it.

As per the outlet (via Sport Witness), Cutrone ‘jumped’ at the chance to leave the Midlands club just a few months after signing for them from Italian giants AC Milan for €18m (roughly £16.2m) in July 2019. The 22-year-old also admitted that, as soon as he heard interest from Fiorentina about signing him in the January transfer window, he ‘immediately said yes’ before going back to Italy on loan.

Judging by these comments, one may conclude that Cutrone’s heart is not entirely set on Wolves ang Nuno Espirito Santo’s team should seriously consider cutting their losses when his loan deal expires.

Indeed, for a striker that cost £16.2m, to be sent out on loan just a few months after joining is not a good sign – Cutrone unfortunately fail to impress during his short spell in the west Midlands.

In 24 appearances in all competitions in this season, the centre-forward scored just three goals and supplied a mere four assists, according to Transfermarkt).

Perhaps playing in Italy better suits Cutrone, judging by his performances in both his home country and in England, and Wolves may be wise to negotiate a permanent transfer to Fiorentina once his current deal expires.

Para o treinador, a cera dos jogadores do Cuiabá foi proposital para quebrar o ritmo de jogo e diminuir a intensidade da ofensiva do Glorioso.

– Eu não gosto, eu estou aqui para ganhar jogos, não estou para ter uma equipe simpática. Não estou para ter uma equipe que quer fazer amigos do outro lado, estou aqui para ganhar e é dessa forma que eu me avalio. Não fiquei satisfeito, vocês perceberam que não fiquei satisfeito de devolver a bola, quando claramente aquilo foi uma paragem técnica. O jogador estava no chão para que toda a gente fosse ao banco e pudesse receber instruções. Não gostei e fiquei chateado com o Bastos. Disse no intervalo exatamente isso porque sei perfeitamente que tudo serve para arranjar maneiras de quebrar o ritmo de jogo. E sabendo que somos uma equipe rápida, uma equipe que tem dinâmicas intensas, do outro lado vamos apanhar e já apanhamos algumas equipes desta forma – afirmou.

– Nós temos que fazer o jogo para ter o resultado que queremos. E se nós tivemos algum papel em alguns momentos que foi cúmplice de uma estratégia que o adversário trouxe de quebrar o ritmo de jogo, tivemos mal. Essas coisas que temos que corrigir. E também parece que nós permitimos muito, e eu falei disso desde o primeiro minuto ao auxiliar que estava do meu lado, porque todas as vezes esperar para dar um cartão aos 60, ao goleiro que teve sempre com a bola parada e a atrasar o jogo, a quebrar com os jogadores constantemente no chão, simular lesões. Qualquer encosto agora, simulam. Eu acho que é do mau profissionalismo quando é assim, é o comportamento que se tem que não favorece nada o espetáculo, e o espetáculo não é isto, no meu ver, o futebol que eu defendo – completou.

– Não posso julgar nem avaliar aquilo qual é a estratégia de qualquer um dos meus rivais. Compete a mim ter soluções para poder contrariar essas estratégias e aquilo que é a forma, a sua abordagem ao jogo. E a nossa abordagem tem sido muito consistente, pelo menos nós, Botafogo, temos sido muito consistentes. E hoje tivemos um jogo também nesse aspecto, muito próximo daquilo que é a nossa realidade, ou seja, uma equipe que procurou atacar, tentamos, finalizamos. Se calhar, tivemos algum demérito também em algumas finalizações, mas temos que saber lidar com isso de uma forma natural, ainda que não possamos estar satisfeitos, porque não estou satisfeito, obviamente, com o resultado. Um ponto aqui hoje foi curto para aquilo que a equipe produziu e não estou satisfeito com o desempenho. Não tem a ver com o desempenho dos jogadores, também com o resultado só, porque os jogadores lutaram, trabalharam, foram abnegados na forma como tentaram lá chegar, mas não conseguimos, hoje não. Não deu. Portanto, temos que perceber que há dias assim e melhores dias virão seguramente – finalizou.

– Me parece um absurdo ter um jogo após as seleções jogarem. Estamos a falar que vamos ter a Seleção Brasileira jogando aqui no Brasil, vamos ter a seleção argentina em Buenos Aires. Temos jogadores espalhados por dentro afora. E com menos de 24 horas para tentar chegar ao jogo seguinte. Obviamente que isto vai ter impacto e influência nas minhas opções para o jogo contra o Atlético-MG. Obviamente. Se todos jogarem pelas suas seleções, fico eu, ficamos nós, fica o Botafogo privado de poder ter os jogadores, ou pelo menos na sua plenitude, para um jogo que vai ser de extrema importância. Estou falando dos últimos cinco jogos de campeonato. Nos cinco últimos jogos, nós conseguimos ter uma equipe que luta por um título privada de jogadores, porque tem jogo de seleção no dia anterior ao seu jogo. Isto, para mim, é um absurdo. Esta é a minha opinião.

Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold has revealed Tottenham starlet George Marsh continues to turn heads at the club..

With clubs unlikely to spend big money on new signings, academy prospects may never get a better chance than now to really prove themselves worthy of an opportunity.

And according to Gold, Marsh is one of those youngsters who appears to be set for a bright future, and that after a successful loan spell with Leyton Orient, has shown himself to be a very versatile option for Jose Mourinho.

Gold revealed that both Marsh and fellow starlet Harvey White were involved in a training game involving the senior side, but that the former’s ability to play across numerous position could see him stand out.

He said: “18-year-old White was joined by another versatile midfielder in George Marsh, who has returned from his loan spell at Leyton Orient with the League Two season having ended. The 21-year-old, who made his debut for Spurs last season in the FA Cup, has had a campaign to remember in his breakthrough season as a first team player at Orient.

“He made 26 appearances in League Two and impressed a lot of people both at the O’s and back at Tottenham. His ability to play in midfield, central defence and at right-back will have marked him out as a useful player for Mourinho to have right now before likely getting another loan to further his development next season.”

Trusting the youth

After the months of attention and scrutiny on Mourinho’s reluctance to throw Troy Parrott into the deep end despite the striker crisis in north London, it will be very interesting to see whether the likes of Marsh and White make an appearance for the first-team when the Premier League restarts this month.

If Daniel Levy chooses not to open the chequebook this summer, then Mourinho will surely have no other option but to place his faith in some of the Lilywhites’ promising youngsters.

And that could make all the difference in terms of whether Marsh and White go on to enjoy a successful career at Spurs.

Referees aren’t just the guys in the middle of the pitch making sure the rules are being followed anymore, now they’re almost just as talked about as the players themselves.

Nine times out of ten they’re making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Whether it’s a dodgy penalty, missed handball, a goal kick given instead of a corner, and more recently, VAR and goalline technology mishaps, referees all around the world are now well-known names amongst the fans.

Over the last decade, Mike Jones is the referee who has overseen the highest Arsenal win percentage (80%) when refereeing games involving the Gunners, while Michael Oliver has the lowest win percentage (22.22%).

As for cards, Stuart Attwell has the highest cards-per-game ratio for Arsenal matches in the Premier League with 2.67, although Mike Dean has dished out more cards to Arsenal players than anyone else.

Aston Villa

Lee Probert is Aston Villa’s luckiest referee over the last 10 years with a win percentage 42.86%, while Phil Dowd only ever refereed one Aston Villa victory during his career in the middle!

Mark Clattenburg has shown more cards to Villa players in the Premier League than any other referee, while Neil Swarbrick’s average of 2.13 cards-per-game is the highest ratio where Villa matches are concerned.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth fans will be hoping to see more of Kevin Friend in the near future, with the referee officially being the Cherries’ luckiest referee.

That said, Friend also loves to show Bournemouth players cards!

Bournemouth’s unluckiest referee is Lee Mason, who has only overseen one Bournemouth victory from the 12 games involving the club in which he has refereed.

Brighton

John Moss is the referee Brighton fans will not want to see in the middle of their matches in future as the referee has never been involved in a Seagulls victory from six Premier League matches.

But Craig Pawson is Brighton’s luckiest, ref, with a 50% win percentage!

John Moss also holds the record for the highest cards-per-game average for Brighton with 2.67 while Chris Kavanagh is the referee who has shown Brighton the most cards in the Premier League – 20!

Burnley

Martin Atkinson dominates the rankings here for Burnley.

He’s not only Burnley’s luckiest ref with a win percentage of 55% from 20 matches involving the Clarets, but he’s also the man who has shown more cards to their players than any other referee over the last 10 years in the top-flight – 45 yellows and 1 red, averaging 2.3 cards-per-game.

Burnley will dread seeing Michael Oliver appear in the middle of the park for their matches in future, as the ref has only see Burnley win once from 12 games he’s been involved in.

Chelsea

Over the last decade in the Premier League, Neil Swarbrick has been Chelsea’s luckiest referee with a win percentage of 83.33% from 12 games.

While Kevin Friend is the ref who has the lowest win percentage for Chelsea – 45%.

Mike Dean has dished out more cards to Chelsea players over the last 10 years (88), while Anthony Taylor has the highest cards-per-game average with 2.23.

Crystal Palace

Lee Mason is Crystal Palace’s luckiest referee with a 50% win percentage from the 12 Eagles matches he’s refereed. Kevin Friend is their unluckiest, having been in charge of one Crystal Palace victory in 13.

John Moss is the man who seems to love showing Palace players cards, having dished out 52 to Eagles stars with an average of 2.26 per-match.

Everton

Everton’s favourite referee over the last 10 years is Paul Tierney, who has a win percentage of 60%. Then man in the middle they’ll dread seeing in future is Craig Pawson, who has reffed three Toffees victories out of a possible 15!

Michael Oliver has dished out the most cards to Everton players over the last decade with 53, but Bobby Madley has the highest cards-per-game average with 2.2.

Leicester City

Anthony Taylor has overseen the highest win percentage for Leicester City over the last decade, with 53.33%. Martin Atkinson is the Foxes’ unluckiest ref with a win percentage of just under 19%.

Mike Dean is the man who loves showing Leicester players a card the most, with 37 cards shown in 21 games, but Chris Kavanagh is the most card happy where Foxes players are concerned – he averages 2.27 cards-per-game.

Liverpool

Liverpool’s luckiest referee over the last 10 years is Lee Probert, who has reffed a Reds victory in almost 77% of the 13 games he’s been involved in.

Howard Webb is Liverpool’s unluckiest referee, so Reds fans will be delighted that he’s no retired.

Martin Atkinson is the man in the middle who loves giving Liverpool players cards the most – he’s handed Reds players a whopping 71 cards in the 44 games he’s been involved in.

Manchester City

Over the last decade, Neil Swarbrick is the referee who has overseen the highest Man City win percentage (90%) when refereeing games involving City, while Mark Clattenburg has the lowest win percentage (39.29%).

As for cards, Chris Foy has the highest cards-per-game ratio for Man City matches in the Premier League with 2.12, although Mike Dean has dished out more cards to Man City players than anyone else.

Manchester United

Over the last decade, Lee Probert is the referee who has overseen the highest Manchester United win percentage (75%) when refereeing games involving the Red Devils, while Michael Oliver has the lowest win percentage (39.29%).

As for cards, Mike Dean leads way for cards in Man United matches. He’s dished out 96 cards at an average of 2.34 cards-per-game – more than any other referee over the last 10 years.

Newcastle United

Over the last decade, Chris Foy is the referee who has overseen the highest Newcastle win percentage (47.37%) when refereeing games involving the Magpies, while Mike Jones has the lowest win percentage (16.67%).

No duelo deste domingo (30), na Neo Química Arena, a equipe da casa saiu na frente em falha na saída de bola do arqueiro, que deu passe nos pés do adversário. No segundo tempo, o Glorioso virou a partida, mas sofreu o empate na reta final.

— O contexto é de um campeonato complicado e difícil para todos, sobretudo fora de casa. O feito de Palmeiras e Flamengo terem jogado a final da Libertadores mostra isso. Jogamos um jogo com muita personalidade e coragem, que é o que peço ao time. Isso às vezes faz com que possa acontecer um erro, como no primeiro gol. São coisas que, se queremos jogar, pode acontecer. Não tem que acontecer, mas aconteceu hoje. Depois, fiquei satisfeito em como o Leo seguiu jogando, com coragem e personalidade. Sensação de que poderíamos ter vencido esse jogo e terminar com 3 a 1. Mas depois de como começou, estou satisfeito — disse o italiano.

Há oito jogos sem perder, o treinador acumula quatro vitórias e quatro empates, e confirmou a vaga na Libertadores de 2026 na rodada passada do Brasileirão. Ancelotti comentou o momento vivido pelo Botafogo sob seu comando e o foco no objetivo, que é a classificação direta para a competição continental.

— Essa consistência e continuidade que temos faz com que estejamos em quinto e mais perto do nosso objetivo. Hoje defendemos com muito compormisso e tivemos pequenos erros que pagamos caro. Mas respeitamos o plano de jogo defensivamente. Ofensivamente, acho que erramos um pouco na ideia na primeira etapa, de jogar muito por dentro e não ter a paciência de trocar de corredor, coisa que fizemos bem na segunda, e procuramos bem os espaços que queriamos ter para jogar.

Continuando a avaliação do jogo, o treinador identificou o problema do Botafogo na partida e também um problema recorrente, que é a dificuldade de matar o jogo, mas valorizou o ponto conquistado.

دافع لاعب فريق ليفربول هارفي إليوت عن لاعب ليدز يونايتد باسكال ستروجيك، رغم تسببه في إصابته العنيفة في مباراتهما مساء أمس ببطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وتلاقى الفريقان في إطار منافسات الجولة الرابعة من البطلوة، حيث فاز ليفربول بثلاثة أهداف دون رد، في ملعب إيلاند رود.

وشهدت المباراة في الدقيقة 60 تعرض هارفي إليوت لإصابة مروعة في الكاحل، بعد تدخل قوي من لاعب ليدز يونايتد باسكال ستروجيك، حيث تحصل الأخير على بطاقة حمراء.

وأكد ليفربول في بيان رسمي أن هارفي إليوت سيخضع لعملية جراحية في غضون الأيام القليلة المقبلة، بعد تعرض كاحله للخلع (لمطالعة التفاصيل من هنا).

ورغم ذلك، فإن هارفي إليوت يرى أن باسكال ستروجيك لا يستحق الطرد، حيث قال عبر حسابه الشخصي بموقع إنستجرام: “لم يكن خطئه على الإطلاق”.

وأضاف: “لم تكن أيضًا بطاقة حمراء، كان مجرد حادث غريب ولكن هذه الأشياء تحدث في عالم كرة القدم، سأعود أقوى بنسبة 100 %، شكرًا على كل الدعم”.

ولكن دين سميث أجهض تلك الآمال بعدما صرح في مؤتمر صحفي اليوم بإمكانية غياب محمود حسن تريزيجيه عن مباريات أستون فيلا حتى نهاية العام الحالي.

وظهر دين سميث في مؤتمر صحفي اليوم قبل مباراة الغد المرتقبة ضد إيفرتون، في الجولة الخامسة من الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وصرَح دين سميث بأن هناك إمكانية لاستمرار غياب تريزيجيه عن أستون فيلا حتى نهاية هذا العام، حيث أنه لم يتعاف تمامًا من الإصابة.

وأكد دين سميث على أن تريزيجيه لا يزال في طور التأهيل من إصابة الرباط الصليبي، التي عانى منها أمام ليفربول في الموسم الماضي من الدوري الإنجليزي.
