Nottingham Forest should look to move Joe Worrall on this summer amid reports of interest from Norwich City.

What’s been said?

According to a report by The Sun (via Football League World), Worrall is on Daniel Farke’s list of summer targets for his newly promoted Norwich City side, as the German manager looks to strengthen his backline ahead of the Canaries’ Premier League campaign next season.

Alan Nixon has also claimed that it appears “likely” that the 24-year-old will be sold to “the highest bidder” this summer, with it previously being reported that Forest would be demanding a fee of around £12 million to part with the centre-back.

Forest should sell

It is hardly surprising to hear that Norwich are considering a move for Worrall this summer, as the centre-back has highly impressed over his 29 Championship appearances for Chris Hughton’s side this term, helping his team in keeping 11 clean sheets, as well as making an average of 1.1 interceptions, 0.7 tackles and 4.3 clearances per game.

These returns have seen the former England U21 international average a SofaScore match rating of 6.95 – ranking him as the club’s fifth-best performer in the second tier.

However, despite his admirable displays, as well as his clear importance to the Forest backline, there are a number of reasons why this summer could be the perfect time to cash in on the former Rangers loanee, whom Steven Gerrard dubbed a “leader” during his time in Glasgow.

Firstly, with Worrall under contract at The City Ground until the summer of 2024, the fee that Forest could reasonably demand for his sale is likely to be the highest it will be for the foreseeable future – with it appearing unlikely that the centre-back will put pen to paper on a new deal any time soon.

Secondly, with Norwich receiving a cash injection having secured promotion to the top flight, Forest know full well that Farke’s side have the funds available to pay for Worrall, putting them in a relative position of power in any negotiations.

And, finally, and perhaps most importantly, with Nottingham Forest having something of a season to forget in the Championship, it is evident that much work is needed to be done in the transfer market this summer, something which the sale of Worrall could help fund – while also meaning that the club’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, would not have to dip into his own pocket quite so deeply, a positive sign for the financial health of the club.

Marcus Bent has exclusively told Football FanCast that Gylfi Sigurdsson still has a future at Everton past this summer.

The Icelandic international is in his fourth season on Merseyside following his £45million switch from Swansea City, but hasn’t quite managed to live up to expectations.

Besides Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the former Tottenham man has scored the most goals in the Toffees squad but isn’t a guaranteed starter under Carlo Ancelotti.

Sigurdsson has started each of Everton’s previous five Premier League matches but has been on the bench 13 times this season – with Alex Iwobi and Bernard occasionally preferred in the attacking positions by the Italian.

His Everton deal expires in 2022, but despite reports suggesting that the Toffees are open to selling him this summer, Bent has been reliably informed that Sigurdsson is still seen as a vital part of Ancelotti’s squad.

He told Football FanCast:

“Everton are happy with him and not looking to let him go. I think he’s got a future there; I’ve heard it from many people at Everton.”

Sigurdsson netted twice in the recent draw with Spurs, taking his tally for the campaign to eight in all competitions, but Bent still expects more from the ex-Swansea man.

“He’s got to score more goals and be more consistent,” he added.

وواصل: “التجديد لا يتم بسهولة لأن أي لاعب لديه طلبات وكذلك النادي، ولا بد من التوصل لحل وسط لأنه في حال عدم حدوث ذلك لن تصل لنتيجة”.

وتابع: “لم نجلس حتى الآن مع مجلس إدارة الزمالك وسنجتمع معهم بعد عودة الفريق من السفر”.

وكان الزمالك قد بدأ مشواره في دور المجموعات بالتعادل في الجولتين السابقتين مع بترو أتلتيكو الأنجولي ومواطنه ساجرادا.

جدير بالذكر أن الزمالك سيسافر إلى المغرب من أجل ملاقاة الوداد ضمن منافسات الجولة الثالثة من دور المجموعات ببطولة دوري ابطال إفريقيا.

O elenco do Fluminense fez mais um treino nesta quinta-feira, no CT Pedro Antônio, visando o confronto com o Cruzeiro. Levir Culpi não indicou o time que entrará em campo, mas a boa notícia ficou por conta de Diego Cavalieri e William Matheus, que trabalharam com bola e estão mais perto de voltar a defender o Tricolor das Laranjeiras pelo Campeonato Brasileiro.

Steven Gerrard has been handed a big injury boost to Ryan Jack ahead of next season, with the Rangers midfielder undergoing successful surgery earlier this week, which should hopefully see him fit to return to the Ibrox pitch in the near future.

The former Aberdeen man has been sidelined since February with a calf injury which ended up ruling him out for the season and Euro 2020 this summer due to a number of complications.

He was sent to London to see a specialist, who recommended that an operation was required in order to fix the 29-year-old’s issue and have him back fit in time for next season.

Fortunately, Jack confirmed on Instagram earlier this week that the operation was a success, saying: “Just letting everyone know I had a successful operation yesterday morning and I’m now on the road to recovery. Can’t wait to be back for the start of next season and getting back doing what I love. Thanks to everyone for the messages it’s much appreciated. All focus now is on 56!

The midfielder was very impressive in Gerrard’s side earlier in the season and was one of the main pillars behind their incredible defensive record – in the 19 Premiership games in which he appeared, the Light Blues conceded just twice.

He averaged a solid 7.03 WhoScored rating for his performances, and whilst Rangers were able to seal the title without him, they have definitely looked more vulnerable defensively in his absence, conceding 11 goals in the 16 league matches he has missed this term.

Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister was full of praise for Jack back in 2019, saying: “For me, he has been unbelievable from day one.

“He has improved no-end, and you are seeing a midfield player gathering loads of information, experience and being given a bit of responsibility he’s maybe not had in the past.”

This has certainly continued to be the case this season, so to have him back in time for next term will be a huge boost for Gerrard and his hopes of securing another Premiership crown in 2022, whilst hopefully also impressing in the domestic and European cup competitions.

Na última rodada, o já rebaixado Santa Cruz se despede da Série A contra o São Paulo, no próximo domingo, às 17h no Pacaembu. O Grêmio joga em casa, contra o Botafogo

Mas antes da despedida do Campeonato Brasileiro, o Tricolor do Sul tem o jogo de volta da decisão da Copa do Brasil contra o Galo, nesta quarta-feira, em sua Arena. Na ida, time gaúcho venceu por 3 a 1 e pode perder por 1 a 0 que fica com o título.

O JOGO

O duelo entre tricolores no Arruda começou movimentado, e na primeira chegada o Santa quase abriu o placar, Keno bateu firme e Léo fez boa defesa. O Grêmio respondeu com Negueba, mas dessa vez foi a vez de Tiago Cardoso evitar o gol. No lance seguinte, os gaúchos marcaram com Henrique Almeida, porém o assistente marcou impedimento, de forma equivocada.

Aos 22, os visitantes tiveram outra boa chance, só que Negueba pegou mal na bola e isolou. O Santa apostava nos contra-ataques e em uma saída rápida Léo Moura quase deixou sua marca após passe de Grafite. Vitor também tentou surpreender Léo, mas o goleiro estava atento ao cruzamento e mandou para escanteio.

Na reta final de primeiro tempo, Keno quase marcou um golaço. Atacante fez fila desde o campo de defesa e chute passou raspando. Antes do intervalo, o Grêmio ainda teve uma chance boa, mas Henrique Almeida parou nas mãos do goleiro pernambucano.

O Santa Cruz voltou pressionando para o segundo tempo e logo na primeira chegada Grafite marcou. Keno cruzou na medida para o camisa 23 mandar de cabeça para o fundo do gol. Sem perder tempo, o Grêmio buscou o empate e conseguiu com Miller Bolaños, batendo na saída de Tiago Cardoso.

Os gols não paravam de sair na etapa final, aos 15, foi a vez de Léo Moura guardar o seu, aproveitando rebote da ótima defesa de Léo após desvio de Grafite. Mesmo já rebaixado, os donos da casa jogavam bem e levavam perigo para o goleiro gremista. João Paulo quase fez olímpico.

Derley quase ampliou para o Santa Cruz em um lindo chute de fora da área, mas bola passou tirando tinta da trave direita de Léo. O Grêmio tentava levar perigo, mas faltava criatividade no setor de meio-campo. Os donos da casa ainda conseguiram ampliar com Roberto, em linda cobrança de falta. Já no fim, Grafite e Arthur também balançaram as redes e fecharam a goleada. Despedida do Arruda com boa vitória.

Former Rangers defender Michael Ball has exclusively told Football FanCast that teenager Nathan Patterson could eventually take the mantle from captain James Tavernier in the coming years.

With the Scottish Premiership title already in the bag, the 19-year-old has been given the chance to impress in the first team by Steven Gerrard in recent matches.

Patterson only made his league debut as a late substitute against Kilmarnock back in August but has since been rewarded with eight starts in all competitions for the Glasgow giants.

The right-back has also been trusted in two Old Firm outings, including 90 minutes in the Scottish Cup victory at Ibrox last month, having netted his first domestic goal against Cove Rangers in the previous round.

Patterson’s only other professional goal came against Royal Antwerp in the Europa League, and having gained some valuable experience throughout Rangers’ European campaign, Ball has predicted the youngster for a big future, especially learning off the skipper.

He told Football FanCast:“Tavernier has been a massive captain for the club. He’s been fantastic and if he can learn as much as he can off Tavernier and take the mantle then it’s going to be a great club to play for is Rangers.”
