O Santos anunciou nesta terça-feira que fará um amistoso para apresentar o elenco para a torcida. O time será oKenitra, do Marrocos, que chegou a negociar com o Peixe uma pré-temporada no país africano, mas não aceita. A escolha do adversário é parte de uma negociação com a Royal Air Maroc, companhia aérea que patrocina o Peixe.

O duelo acontecerá no dia 29 de janeiro, no Pacaembu. Informações como horário e preços de ingressos e pontos de venda ainda não foram divulgadas.

A tendência é que o serviço de som do estádio anuncie nome por nome do elenco do Santos para a temporada. Até agora, cinco reforços foram contratados, são eles: o zagueiro Cleber, o lateral Matheus Ribeiro, o volante Leandro Donizete, os atacantes Vladimir Hernández e Kayke.

O plantel se reapresenta para iniciar a pré-temporada nesta quarta-feira e estreia no Paulistão no dia 5 de fevereiro, contra o Linense, na Vila Belmiro.

The victory, which came in the first over after lunch, took East Zone’s tally to 13 points from three matches. South Zone stayed on eight pointsfrom the same number of games.East Zone, who required only 96 runs with eight wickets in hand, were favoured to win when play resumed this morning. But South Zone came strongly into the picture with some quick blows. First, Venkatesh Prasad had Sanjay Raul leg before for 18 with the total on 76. In the next over Rohan Gavaskar was caught by Vijay Bhardwaj off Srinath for one. And in the very next over, SZ Zuffri was leg before to Prasad for one to leave East Zone in a shaky position at78 for five.Young wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta joined Das and the two put East Zone back on the rails with a sixth wicket partnership of 45 runs off 15.2 overs. Das who dominated the scoring was finally out for 79, caught by VVS Laxman off Sunil Joshi. But Dasgupta and Sukhbinder Singh made light of the task and steered their side to victory with an unbroken seventh wicket stand of 47 runs off 13.4 overs. For his timely unbeaten 32, Dagupta faced 65 balls and hit four of them to the ropes. Sukbhinder, who had bagged six wickets in the South Zone second innings was unbeaten with 22 off 49 balls with three boundaryhits.

Southampton have been linked with a move for Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie recently, and his potential signing could be a repeat of the deal which saw Stuart Armstrong join the Saints in 2018.

According to The Scottish Sun, Southampton are targeting the attacking midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window as they look to add a goalscoring midfielder to their ranks next season. The report from Alan Nixon suggests that Christie’s contract with Celtic is set to expire at the end of 2021, so they are keen to cash in on him this summer instead of potentially losing him for nothing.

Norwich and Burnley are also said to be interested in the 26-year-old, but a move to Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side may appeal to the Scotland international as he could link up with his former clubmate and current international colleague Armstrong.

Since joining the Saints three years ago, the 29-year-old has gone on to make 104 appearances for the south coast club, contributing 14 goals and 11 assists.

The Scottish midfielder was one of the standout performers for Southampton in 2020/21, with Saints legend Terry Paine full of praise for his campaign in the recent end of the season awards, saying: “I’ve been highly impressed with him, in terms of his effort and output, and the fact that he has played in multiple positions. He’s shown that bit of spark, and he’s got that burst of pace that can make a real difference.”

Given that Southampton signed him from Celtic, where he predominantly featured as an attacking midfielder, there are many similarities between Armstrong and Christie.

The 26-year-old Scotland international has contributed an impressive 40 goals and 41 assists in 142 appearances for the Hoops, which included four goals and eight assists in the Premiership last season as he averaged a superb 7.33 rating from WhoScored for his performances.

Celtic legend Chris Sutton was full of praise for the midfielder after his goals helped Scotland qualify for Euro 2020, saying: “You have to admire his attitude as well as his versatility, to be able to play so many positions at such a high level…he gives it absolutely everything. We all know he can produce moments of magic, but he combines it with a ferocious work rate. Christie is a manager’s dream.”

Therefore, it certainly seems as if Christie could be a superb addition to Hasenhuttl’s squad, and if he can have the same impact that Armstrong has made during his time on the south coast, then signing him could be another masterstroke by Southampton CEO Martin Semmens if the Saints pull it off.

O recém-contratado Conca poderá treinar apenas a partir de março, mas o time não pode parar e, enquanto isso, o técnico já planeja um esquema tático em que o argentino e Diego consigam atuar, aumentando o rendimento e apostando na qualidade técnica do elenco.

Nesta temporada, Zé Ricardo avalia esquemas em que Conca já está acostumado a jogar, como o 4-2-3-1, quando atuava pelo Fluminense e podia jogar também pelo lado do campo, conduzindo bem a função de terceiro homem na linha de três. Também acredita que o 4-1-4-1 é uma boa opção, mas como é mais complicada, pretende treinar o time antes de arriscar o esquema.

Analisando a possível atuação de dois meias no time, Andrade, ex-volante do Rubro Negro que conquistou grandes torneios como a Copa Libertadores de 1981 e os Campeonatos Brasileiros de 1980, 82 e 83, afirma que os dois jogadores devem ser aproveitados e que não se pode manter no banco de reservas meias com tamanha capacidade.

Grant Flower’s unbeaten 142 equalled Zimbabwe’s previous best one-day score by Dave Houghton against New Zealand in the World Cup of 1987/88.The match began under unseasonably cloudy skies, but on a good-looking, if slightly green, pitch at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Zimbabwe kept the same team again and have thus played the same eleven players throughout the series. Bangladesh made one change, dropping opener Al-Shahriar for 17-year-old all-rounder Mohammad Ashraful.Zimbabwe batted on winning the toss, but lost three wickets for 39 as the ball moved around early on. The game as a contest began to die as the prospects of a Bangladesh victory became increasingly remote, but there was enough action to keep a disappointing crowd (no doubt due to the weekday timing and the chronic fuel shortage) from being disappointed. Habibul scored 74 off 91 balls, a good innings but not quite at the frenetic pace required, and after his departure at 205 for four the innings subsided gradually. Bangladesh did, however, have the pleasure of recording their highest total in all one-day internationals and, finishing at 272 for eight, they avoided the fate of Custer’s troops who fell to the last man.

O jogador pertencia ao Bragantino, que havia emprestado o atleta ao Botafogo. O time carioca tinha opção de compra, mas não quis. Assim, ele ficou livre para assinar com uma nova equipe, por empréstimo ou por compra definitiva. E foi a segunda opção que o Inter escolheu.

Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey after his rather underwhelming stint in Serie A.

What’s the story?

The Wales international is currently lining up for his national side at the European Championships, but a summer switch could be on the cards after the tournament’s conclusion.

According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Talk), Ramsey wants to leave Juve over the coming months to make a return to the Premier League, with Arsenal and West Ham United set to rival Palace for his signature.

After making just 24 Serie A starts in a two-year stint with the Turin giants, Ramsey is reportedly ready to return to English football.

The 30-year-old has enjoyed a stellar career in terms of winning trophies at Arsenal and then Juventus, winning three FA Cups, a Scudetto and an Italian Cup.

When at the peak of his powers, Ramsey can be a top-class operator and he was once described as an “outstanding technician” by former Gunners defender Martin Keown.

However, after finding game time hard to come by in recent years, the experienced maestro could be ready to move to a side where he’d be guaranteed a place in the starting XI.

Palace are in desperate need of new recruits ahead of the upcoming transfer window. Roy Hodgson’s departure has left the south London outfit in a precarious position.

The former England boss may have brought stability to Selhurst Park during his four-year stint at the helm, but he’s left the playing squad in a far from healthy state.

Experienced duo James McCarthy and James McArthur are set to become free agents at the end of the month, leaving a sizeable gap in the capital club’s engine room.

Therefore, chairman Steve Parish must swoop for Ramsey as he plots a mass overhaul of the first-team squad.

Whether the Welshman would be prepared to join Palace and battle against relegation is up for debate, but an opportunity to bring in someone of his stature and quality is something the club’s hierarchy cannot afford to turn down.
