Liverpool aren't afraid to splash the cash to improve their midfield, as proved last summer of course. And now they could finally welcome a long-term defensive midfielder, with Wataru Endo already 31 years old and unlikely to be at his best for an extended period of time, such is the ruthless nature of the Premier League. But that should allow Varela to step in at the perfect time.

"Wonderful" Varela can replace Endo

As surprisingly good as Endo has been for Liverpool since arriving last summer, the Reds need a long-term solution for that defensive midfield role if they are to permanently unleash Alexis Mac Allister's best form. And that solution should be the former Brighton man's compatriot in Varela this summer.

Valera's numbers on the ball are particularly impressive and there could be an argument that he's yet to even reach his best form at 22 years old. A move to Liverpool this summer would, on paper, result in significant improvement if all goes well under Slot. The Argentine has certainly earned fans during what is still a young career, with Football Talent Scout's Jacek Kulig describing him as "wonderful" on X.

When the summer transfer window arrives, the Porto star will be one to watch amid impressive interest, as Liverpool look to end any doubts about their midfield once and for all.

O vice jurídico do Vasco, José Cândido Bulhões, analisou a decisão da desembargadora e disse que o Vasco irá elaborar um plano de pagamento dos credores e buscar dar conta de todos os seus pagamentos previstos na lei. Ele ressaltou que a decisão foi importante para o futebol brasileiro como um todo, já que coloca uma decisão que ajuda os clubes a resolverem seus problemas e endividamento.

– A decisão é muito importante em vários aspectos. Primeiro que ao suspender a execução de R$93,5 milhões permite que o clube pague os salários, seus fornecedores e obrigações correntes. Além disso, ela cria as obrigações necessárias para que o clube elabore o plano de pagamento dos credores previsto na lei 14.193 permitindo assim que o clube siga em frente com a centralização das execuções conforme o requerido a presidente do tribunal – disse, e em seguida explicou:

– Na semana passada, o Vasco teve requerido o direito da centralização das execuções com base na lei 14.193, mas só isso não bastava. Era preciso que suspendessem a execução forçada de mais de R$ 93 milhões porque isso inviabilizaria até mesmo a elaboração do plano de pagamento dos credores. Afinal, como o clube vai montar um plano par apagar seus credores, se ele foi executado de R$93 milhões. Ficaria inviável – acrescentou, e emendou.

– Havia também uma penhora de R$ 24 milhões do contrato com a Globo que é a maior fonte de receita do clube no momento. Então, essa penhora na Globo por si só já comprometia o funcionamento do clube das obrigações correntes do clube. Então, a decisão foi importante, pois o clube consegue programar o pagamento de forma organizada sem comprometer o funcionamento do clube. Com a decisão de hoje, ficam suspensas todas as decisões em curso e o Vasco passa a destinar 20% de sua receita mensal corrente para o plano de pagamentos para o pagamento de credores apresentado – finalizou.

Entenda o caso

Após o Vasco ser excluído do Ato Trabalhista, o gestor de centralização do TRT-1, Fernando Reis de Abreu, pediu ao clube o Regime Especial de Execução Forçada (Reef). Com isso, cobrou R$ 93 milhões em dívidas trabalhistas com ex-funcionários. O clube inicialmente tentou suspender essa decisão, porém o pedido foi negado pela desembargadora.

No dia 10 de agosto, a direção do Gigante da Colina fez o pedido de instauração do Regime Centralizado de Execuções (RCE), algo previsto na nova lei brasileira voltada ao clube-empresa. Por meio dela, os clubes têm direito de realizar uma centralização das cobranças visando evitar algum tipo de penhoras individuais e fazer o pagamento em no máximo seis anos com o repasse de 20% da receita mensal. O clube criticou a decisão da justiça na época.

Na época,a desembargadora Edith Maria Correa Tourinho, presidente do Tribunal Regional do Trabalho da 1ª Região, reconheceu o direito do clube em centralizar a execução de todas as suas dívidas trabalhistas. A magistrada também definiu um prazo de 60 dias para que o Cruz-Maltino apresente um plano de pagamento. Dessa forma, o Vasco terá dentro de 60 dias para apresentar um plano oficial de pagamento para que a magistrada analise e decida a sua validade.

Jack Clarke's name is always being floated about as a potential outgoing, after bagging 15 goals last season to be a ray of sunshine to cut through the doom and gloom, whilst Dan Neil's contract situation could soon raise the anxiety levels, with the homegrown product reportedly hesitant to commit to Sunderland owing to the precarious manager situation.

Chris Rigg is another face that the powers that be at Sunderland will be desperate to hold onto past this transfer window, with new reports suggesting he's in the same camp as Neil when it comes to securing his immediate Black Cats future.

The latest on Chris Rigg's future at Sunderland

Whereas, there would be obvious anger if Clarke was moved on in the short-term, but there would be no qualms if the electric winger wanted a higher-up move, having been a loyal servant to Sunderland for many years now, accumulating 122 games in the process.

Whereas, Rigg – who was described as being a "warrior" by ex-Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray – has only just started his journey, and could be a huge sale down the line, after further endearing himself to his loyal set of supporters. Thus, losing him now would not be ideal in the slightest – he could just become one of the best to emerge out of the academy in quite some time.

Leeds United know, as well as having to deal with outgoings involving their stars this summer, that the off-season also presents a great opportunity to get rid of some deadwood still lurking in the camp.

Jack Harrison looks to be nearing to a loan move back to Everton for a second successive year to the relief of everyone at Elland Road, whilst Daniel Farke and Co now turn their attention to the future of Maximilian Wober in Leeds white.

Only featuring for Leeds briefly during their relegation campaign down from the Premier League, having only been bruised by the experience slightly by joining mid-way through the season, Wober will still be one the Championship side will look to offload soon.

That could prove to be a tricky sale, however, when taking into account his recent horror-show performance against France in the ongoing Euros tournament.

What the future hold for Wober future at Leeds

Roy Keane, speaking on ITV at half-time of Austria's eventual 1-0 defeat to Didier Deschamps' outfit, was less than impressed with Wober's own-goal rippling the back of his nation's net, labelling it as 'really poor' defending, with his stock falling as a direct consequence of this bad slice of luck.

Wober was equally shaky at points during his brief spell at Leeds, only tallying up two clean sheets from the 16 appearances he managed for the West Yorkshire side, before moving on to Borussia Mönchengladbach on loan in the wake of relegation.

Wober had shone playing out in the Bundesliga last season, away from battling it out for Farke's men back in England, with two goals and three assists mustered up, but Leeds' reported asking price of £12.5m to try and make this deal a permanent one has become a stumbling block for the German side.

Wober's weekly salary during the relegation season would still see him earn more than the electric Dutchman in the here and now, who remains on a meagre £15k-per-week salary, despite the Championship Player of the Year winner amassing a ridiculous 31 goal contributions, only for his side to fall at the final hurdle in the play-off final.

Ten Hag's underperforming side will host Brentford at Old Trafford on Sunday, October 20 as they will look to get their third Premier League win of the season.

Over the last few weeks, Manchester United have been linked with plenty of players as they look to bolster the squad ahead of next season.

However, it’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Joshua Zirkzee that look to be the two most concrete targets, with the latter being the most attainable of the two.

Yet, it seems that the centre-back spot will be the main priority, especially due to the exit of Raphael Varane and the number of injuries suffered in that spot.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at a defensive target for the Red Devils, who has the potential to be an even better signing than Zirkzee.

Man Utd will look to sign a centre back

According to reports from Spain, via The Faithful MUFC, Man United are interested in signing Ronald Araujo.

It’s said that the Red Devils have intensified their efforts to sign the Uruguayan rock, and they’re ready to go ‘all out.’

The reason for this is due to Araujo and Barcelona not currently being on the same page regarding a contract renewal, which could provide an opportunity for United.

It’s mentioned that a £64m fee will be enough to secure Araujo’s signature if he does decide to depart, and Man Utd will increase his wage dramatically.

Why Araujo would be a better signing than Zirkzee

It’s a known fact that over the last couple of seasons, Araujo has played a huge role in the success of Barcelona.

The versatile defender was once again a consistent performer last season, even though he missed eight games through injury.

In La Liga, the 25-year-old started just 21 matches, but during those games he proved he was elite, also netting once and picking up two assists.

Araujo was also handed the captain’s armband at stages, which just shows how highly rated he is as not just a player but also a character.

Nonetheless, as you can see from the stats above, Araujo is the definition of a complete centre-back that’d improve the United backline significantly.

Regardless of whether he’s under pressure or against a low block, the Uruguay international is fantastic on the ball, showing great composure, vision, and progression, as shown by his passing stats and touches.

On the other hand, he’s an absolute monster of an athlete, having extreme speed and physicality, which makes him incredibly difficult to play against.

This athleticism and reading of the game is why he’s such a “Rolls-Royce” of a defender, as dubbed by football scout Jacek Kulig, with his duel win rate and dribbled past proving that.

Furthermore, Araujo has also displayed that he’s a versatile asset by playing at right back, which would give Erik Ten Hag much more tactical flexibility and the team more depth in multiple positions.

Now the question that still remains is: why would Araujo be better than Zirkzee? Well, the answer is rather simple.

To begin with, the centre-back spot at Man United is arguably the weakest in the squad, not necessarily because it lacks quality but because of the lack of reliability, as highlighted by veteran hero Jonny Evans making 23 Premier League appearances last season.

Therefore, a player of Araujo’s quality would simply walk into the starting eleven, whereas Zirkzee would have to compete with Rasmus Hojlund for the lone striker spot in Ten Hag’s 4-2-3-1.

In an ideal world, both players would join the club and bolster the squad, but the Barca man truly has the potential to have more of an influence at Old Trafford.

Avassalador já no primeiro ano, em 2019, quando foi artilheiro do Brasileiro, da Libertadores e herói do título continental, Gabriel Barbosa nunca participou de tantos gols como tem sido a essa altura da temporada. São 27 gols em 27 partidas, além de cinco assistências, o que totaliza32 contribuições diretas em bolas na rede – 1.18 por partida e 29% dos 110 gols do Rubro-Negro até aqui.

Por falar no brilhantismo na Libertadores retrasada, na edição atual, Gabi é o principal marcador da competição novamente, desta vez com dez gols (em dez jogos), ou seja, já é um número superior relação ao do ano de título rubro-negro, quando fez nove (em 12 jogos).

A contagem regressiva para a marca centenária está aberta. Isso porque, no total pelo Fla, Gabi acumula 97 gols, além de 29 assistências, em 129 jogos.
