Danilo suffers horrific injuryPlayers looked visibly shakenFlags held up to shield BrazilianWHAT HAPPENED?
In Forest's first game of the season against Bournemouth, Danilo challenged for a header in the centre of the pitch but suffered a horror injury upon landing. The Brazilian was quickly tended to by the club's medical staff, while Forest flags were used to obscure the injury from the crowd at the City Ground before he was stretchered off.

The 23-year-old joined the club in January 2023 and has played 43 games for the club in total, although his season may now be over. He has not sustained a serious injury in his career, so this may force Forest into the transfer market.
DID YOU KNOW?
Danilo has been one of Forest's more impressive players since his signing and has been called up once by Brazil in his career, although he did not come off the bench in a friendly against Japan.

In a light-hearted chat, the pace trio of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav reflect on their recent success
ESPNcricinfo staff16-Nov-2019You (Shami) bowl very well in the first innings of course, but this ‘second innings Shami’ nickname that you have got, you’re the best in the world in the second innings. What’s the secret behind that? Shami: There is no secret. We keep trying to pump each other up, and keep pushing each other, all the fast bowlers. It’s a difficult job, but we push each other, we joke with each other, that feels very nice. When we are on the ground together, we never feel like we aren’t enjoying others’ success. That’s special. There’s lots of things to say, but…What are the things you can’t say? You (Ishant) are a senior after all! Ishant: No, they don’t treat me like a senior at all [laughter]. There’s no senior-junior here. But like Shami said, we enjoy each others’ success a lot. Yes, there’s healthy competition in the team, which should be there, because that’s when your performance improves. But at the same time, if you enjoy each others’ success, and whatever you spot of the others’ bowling you go and tell them, things become much easier as a team. You’ve played almost 100 Tests. Is this your best phase as a bowler? Ishant: It’s difficult to say. I’ve been playing for a long time. I’m only 31, but the body sometimes feels old after bowling so much. But yes, the way I’m getting wickets, and bowling in good areas, I’m bowling in different ways, so I’m enjoying it quite a lot.And you (Umesh) are strolling up and bowling 140-145 kph… Ishant: Come, come, it’s your turn.Umesh: It’s in the genes and handed down by my family. Whatever I’ve learned from my father in childhood, he made me run around a lot and do lots of things, which is why I’ve reached where I am today. I try to maintain it.You guys have changed the face of Indian bowling from the time when new-ball bowlers would bowl a couple of overs and then be taken off… Umesh: Yes, earlier pacers would bowl only a few overs and then the spinners would come on with turning tracks. But the way all the bowlers are bowling together, we know what our strong point is, what our areas are and we plan that way. We try, for the first 10-15 overs or how much ever we bowl, if we can each take a wicket, then it’ll be better for our spinners. And our confidence is high since we’ll get to bowl again. If we take wickets, we’ll get more bowling, which is good for us.
“The batting coach and captain tell me to just enjoy batting. Lower down, if we can make 25-30 runs, it’s good for the team. If four of us can contribute 100 runs, it’ll be great for the team”Umesh Yadav on his batting
He (Umesh) is bowling well, but what about his batting? The boundaries seem smaller now. Shami: His power makes the boundaries in India seem small. The team has given him the full freedom – ‘play the way you want’. When we go to bat, we don’t have any restrictions about what we have to do. If you are a batsman, you will naturally try to stay at the crease for as long as you can and score as many runs for the team as possible. That is very good, but for him, he has the freedom that he doesn’t need to stay at the crease or block, he just needs to hit. He can do whatever he wants! We generally show highlights of your bowling, but we were showing your sixes package on air just now… Umesh: Actually it’s like what Shami said. The batting coach and captain tell me to just enjoy batting. Lower down, if we can make 25-30 runs, it’s good for the team. If four of us can contribute 100 runs, it’ll be great for the team. But in the last match in Ranchi, against South Africa, the captain told me that we need to score runs quickly. He told me to go and do whatever I could. I just tried, and for anyone, if you start middling the ball, your confidence soars. I just tried to carry that forward. I am trying to do whatever my team needs. There have been times, like in England, where I had to stay at the crease and I did that too. But it’s my time to enjoy now, so I’m enjoying.Excited about the pink-ball Test? They say it moves a lot, but how much more will you make the ball do? Ishant: That Shami has to say, because when he played with the pink ball, he got five wickets in 11 overs. I’ve been asking him, ‘What are you doing that whenever you hit the pads, it’s out. If someone pulls, it’s caught. We’re tired of just beating the bat’ So tell us Shami, we are with just beating the bat! (laughter)Shami: Well… the best thing that is there in my mind is that from the side of the captain and coaches I’ve been given complete freedom.Ishant: That way, even we have the freedom!Shami: And the biggest thing is that I’m bowling with you guys. I don’t even need to think too much. I just need to focus on the one thing you need to do in Tests: put it in a good area. I do just that and you guys make it much easier for me, so there’s no pressure on me.Ishant: We have asked you something else, you’re giving a different answer [laughter]! We are saying that the areas you’re bowling in, we’re bowling in them too. But when you hit the pads it’s in line with the stumps, and when we hit the pads, it’s missing the stumps. Why does this happen?Shami: Well people say it’s biryani [It’s down to the wonders of eating biryani]. No, it doesn’t happen like that of course. But it’s just luck and God’s grace. One thing is that the line and length I’m focusing on is being executed. I’m getting success from that so I try to repeat that.Ishant: Well bowled Shami.Shami: Thank you.
Newcastle United have endured something of a fall from grace this season as the side currently sit seventh in the Premier League table. The Magpies find themselves 11 points short of the top four, which is likely what they would have been aiming for at the start of the season.
Granted, Eddie Howe's men have suffered an abundance of injuries to key players which hasn't helped their case but, realistically, they should be doing better.
To make things worse for the Tyneside club, they even finished at the bottom of their Champions League group after qualifying for the first time since the 2003-04 season.
Aside from the injury crisis that the Magpies have gone through, many of their players have performed below what was likely expected of them. One player in particular is that of Dan Burn.
The defender joined the club from Brighton in the January 2022 transfer window for a fee worth around £13m but his form of late hasn't been the best.
Dan Burn's season in numbers so far
After joining Newcastle in 2022, Burn had a stellar start to life at Newcastle in the second half of the 2021/22 season, playing almost every Premier League game possible aside from his first clash against Everton on the 8th February where he was left on the bench.
Since then, he has been a constant within Eddie Howe's squad, even earning an extension to his contract which would keep him at the club until 2025. However, in recent weeks, Burn seems to have lost some of his confidence.
In one of the defenders' more recent clashes against Luton, according to Sofascore, he was the worst-rated player on the pitch, receiving a rating of 5.4. This below-average rating was due to a number of reasons, one of which was that out of all his attempted ground duels, he only managed to win half. He was also the cause of the concession of a penalty. Not ideal at all.
When compared to the likes of Gabriel Osho from Luton, the Hatters' defender managed to win 80% of his attempted ground duels. This shows how far off the pace Burn has been this season and is one of the reasons why Howe may be forced to drop him.
Fortunately for the Magpies, they have a few options within their squad in regard to players who could replace the 6 foot 7 titan.
The player who could take over from Dan Burn
Much like many other Premier League clubs, Newcastle spent a large chunk of change in the summer to bolster their squad. The Magpies accrued a spending of around £130.7m during the window with players such as Sandro Tonali and Tino Livramento arriving.
Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento.
However, one arrival which excited many was that of Lewis Hall from Chelsea. Initially a loan deal, the Magpies have an obligation to buy the defender for a fee worth up to £35m.
Despite just starting one top-flight game all season, Hall has been lauded by many as having real potential with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard even hailing the performances of the 19-year-old.
"I thought Lewis did really well," said Lampard. "He’s a good player Lewis. In terms of quality on the ball, that’s really clear. In terms of quality, if you see him with the ball and the things he can do, he’s got the levels, he’s obviously got to add to that as he goes along."
Now, with Burn's poor performances, Howe could look towards the youngster for a starting role within his squad. With an extended run in the team, the 19-year-old could develop further and become integral to the Newcastle starting lineup for many years to come.
Additionally, since his arrival at the club, the youngster has managed to become one of the most valuable teenage footballers in world football as per Transfermarkt.
Within the squad, the youngster sits among some of the strongest teenage talent in world football with the likes of Barcelona's Gavi and Brighton's Evan Ferguson also making the mark.
He shouldn't be played just on his valuation alone but in the ever-improving Lewis Miley, Howe has already shown a willingness to throw a teenager into the action.
Miley most notably put in an "excellent" performance against PSG this season – as Ally McCoist voiced on commentary. That display cemented himself as one of the most exciting young players in Europe. However, Hall shouldn't be taken for granted either and must be given a chance to show what he's capable of in the back end of the campaign.
Manchester United will be looking to continue their recent good form, winning four of their previous five matches, as they face Aston Villa in the Premier League today.
The Midlands side could pose a big threat, but Erik ten Hag will take solace from the fact his side came from two goals down to defeat Villa 3-2 on Boxing Day.
The Dutchman has a few injury problems and will face the clash tomorrow without the services of Lisandro Martínez, who is set to be out for an extended period of time.
Lisandro Martínez injury news
The former Ajax defender enjoyed a wonderful start to his United career during the opening months of the 2022/23 season, making 45 appearances before missing the final couple of months due to suffering a metatarsal fracture.
He returned during the opening weeks of this term, but suffered another foot injury and only made his return against Tottenham Hotspur last month.
Manchester United's Lisandro Martinez.
His run of bad luck continued against West Ham United. The World Cup winner suffered an injury to his medial collateral ligament in his knee and is expected to be out for the next eight weeks.
Ten Hag will now face a headache over who comes in for the diminutive defender.
Against the Irons, Raphael Varane came on for Martinez, and he should be the one who is unleashed in the starting XI today against Villa, alongside Harry Maguire.
Raphael Varane’s statistics this season
The French defender has a wealth of experience and was lauded as “incredible” by talent scout Jacek Kulig in 2019, and he should have no problems filling in for the former Ajax centre-back.
Varane has endured a rather inconsistent season thus far, making 21 appearances in all competitions, yet he has started only 15 times due to suffering a series of injury knocks.

Against West Ham last week, the Frenchman adapted well to coming on with just 19 minutes remaining, as he won 100% of his aerial duels, made two clearances and completed 94% of his passes, certainly suggesting that he deserves to be unleashed from the start this afternoon.
The 30-year-old also played the full 90 minutes against Villa during the Boxing Day comeback victory. Despite United conceding twice, the former Real Madrid star was solid throughout.
Not only did he win five of his seven total duels, but the defender also made three interceptions and clearances, made two tackles and lost possession only eight times during the 90 minutes, showcasing his defensive solidity.
This performance should be further evidence for Ten Hag that the 6 foot 4 titan is the man to come in and fill the void left by Martinez today.
Manchester United's Raphael Varane.
Another win for United could see the club close in on the top four, and it will further boost their confidence as the fixtures come thick and fast for the Red Devils.
Ten Hag and his charges endured a difficult start to the season, yet if they can end it well, all will surely be forgiven by the Old Trafford faithful, especially if they keep up the recent good performances.
While 2023 marked the beginning of what could be the 'Ange Postecoglou era' at Tottenham Hotspur, it also coincided with the end of Harry Kane's stellar spell in north London, with the academy graduate finally moving on after over a decade in the first team.
The 30-year-old is currently staring down the barrel of a trophyless first season at Bayern Munich, although with 24 Bundesliga goals to his name already in 2023/24, it is easy to recognise just how far he has come since arriving on the scene with the Lilywhites.
For all Tottenham's record scorer has gone on to achieve in the game, such individual success did not always look to be on the cards, however, particularly amid a difficult start to life in senior football amid a handful of loan spells across the English football pyramid.
It wasn't until the 2014/15 season that Kane – who scored 21 Premier League goals that year – truly announced himself to the wider world, with his Spurs debut having actually come a few years prior at home to Hearts in a Europa League Qualifying Play-offs round second leg tie.
That goalless draw with the Scottish Premiership side back in August 2011 was the striker's first taste of senior action as a mere teenager, as he lined up alongside an eclectic mix of names who have gone on to endure far less fruitful careers elsewhere…

Described as the 'star turn' against Hearts by BBC Sport's Sam Lyon, Andros Townsend looked destined to make the grade at Spurs, particularly after a fruitful loan spell at QPR in 2012/13 in which he netted a stunning volley at home to Aston Villa.
Alas, the breakthrough at his parent club never truly came as the Englishman moved on to Newcastle United in 2016, before subsequent stints with Crystal Palace and Everton.
Now on the books at Luton Town, the 32-year-old has enjoyed something of a renaissance with the Hatters alongside the likes of Ross Barkley, notably scoring against former club Newcastle back in December – that diet of chicken feet seems to be working out well for the part-time talkSPORT pundit…
Gareth Southgate is now the longest-serving England manager since Bobby Robson tenure in the 1980s and comfortably the second-most successful behind only Sir Alf Ramsey – the man who won England their one and only World Cup.
That said, it hasn't been an easy ride for the former Middlesbrough star as he has faced detractors around every corner for much of his term, despite leading the country to its first final in 55 years in 2021.
Football FanCast has gathered everything you need to know about one of England's most successful football managers.
Gareth Southgate age
Born 3rd September 1970, Southgate is 53 years of age. The man who managed to make waistcoats cool for a summer five years ago was born in Watford, Hertfordshire.
The former defender left school with eight O-levels graded between A and C before studying at Croydon College.
Despite being released by Southampton at just 13 years old, Southgate finally made his senior debut for Crystal Palace in the 1990/91 season before playing a further 30 games the following year.
Gareth Southgate appointed England manager
Southgate was handed the reins over seven years ago on 27th September 2016.
Despite his relative success in the role, reaching both a World Cup semi-final and a European Championship final, Southgate was never supposed to get the job when he did and only found himself in his position following the unceremonious – and very public – sacking of Sam Allardyce.
Big Sam was announced as England's latest manager on 22nd July 2016, singing a two-year deal, but instead of 730 days, he lasted just 67. He left his post by 'mutual consent' after being filmed by undercover journalists seemingly admitting to knowing how to skirt FIFA's strict rules on third-party ownership.
With the FA embarrassed and no immediate successor to take over, they looked inwards and promoted Southgate, who at the time was in charge of the country's Under-21 side, and the rest is history.
Gareth Southgate's England record
Southgate has won 59 of his 91 games as England manager, with 17 draws and 15 defeats, while England have scored 212 goals and conceded 73 during that time.
He's approaching 60 wins, which puts him in great company, as only two previous managers have reached as many wins as Three Lions boss. Those two are World Cup winner Sir Alf Ramsey (69) and England’s longest-serving manager, Sir Walter Winterbottom (77).

Gareth Southgate's England salary
While his style of play might not be everyone's cup of tea, it's hard to argue that Southgate hasn't been effective in his time as England boss, time for which he has been handsomely compensated.
Just before he was given the job permanently in late 2016, The Telegraph reported that his two-year contract would be worth a tidy £1.5m a year. Since then, his pay has only gone up, with his most recent contract said to be worth an eye-watering £5m a year.
We can only imagine what the FA might offer him if he manages to go one better at the European Championship in Germany next summer.

ByJack Salveson Holmes Jun 13, 2024 Gareth Southgate's net worth
Reports of Gareth Southgate's net worth differ from site to site.
According to 2020 figures (via 888 Sport), Gareth Southgate's net worth is in the region of £9m.
The England manager has been involved in football for around 30 years with pretty much all of his living made from the sport. But, as you can tell from these predicted figures, he doesn't earn anywhere near as much as some of the top-paid players in the world.
Celebrity info site Taddlr values his net worth slightly higher at £12m.
Gareth Southgate's wife
Southgate's wife is called Alison. Interestingly, they met when the England boss was a trainee at Crystal Palace.
The pair have been a couple for 20 years and were married in July 1997.
Some of the stories that surfaced in the manager's book were rather eye-opening as it was revealed that he and Alison would meet in a Tesco car park to keep their romance secret from her ex. When he was transferred to Aston Villa, she gave him an ultimatum: either she moved to Birmingham with him or the relationship must end.
Gareth Southgate's clubs
While he might be better known to the general public and younger football fans today for his managerial career, Southgate had a long and reasonably successful playing career that lasted over two decades.
As mentioned earlier, the 53-year-old started his professional career playing for Crystal Palace, signing for the side in 1988 before making his debut two years later in a League Cup game against Southend United – a game the Eagles won 8-0.
It took just three years and 100 appearances for the club for Southgate to be handed the captaincy – at just 23 years old – which, looking back, was probably a surefire sign that he would always be a brilliant leader of men both on the pitch and off it.
Aston Villa had taken notice of the full-back's performances in south London and signed the then-24-year-old for £2.5m. In his first season in Birmingham, Southgate won his first major trophy, beating Leeds United in the League Cup final.
Following his six-year spell with the Claret and Blue, Southgate would make one final move after Steve McClaren made a £6.5m offer to bring him to Middlesbrough. He captained Boro to League Cup glory in 2004, while his last game as a player was in the UEFA Cup Final against Sevilla in 2006, which he unfortunately lost 4-0.
Alongside his club career, Southgate was also a regular in the England team between 1995 and 2004. Terry Venables gave him his debut when he came off the bench against Portugal.
In total, the England boss won 57 caps for the Three Lions and scored two goals. That said, as reliable as he was for the national team, he might never be able to escape a certain penalty miss against Germany…
Gareth Southgate's missed penalty for England
England and penalty shootout misery, is there a more natural pairing in football? The semi-final against Germany in Euro 96 certainly didn't help to disprove the trend, anyway.
What made this defeat so much worse was that it was a home championship and England had taken the lead in the third minute thanks to an Alan Shearer goal, only for the Germans to equalise 13 minutes later.
With the score still 1-1 after 120 minutes, penalties were required to determine which team would be going through to the final. Both sides scored their initial five penalties meaning that it was sudden death, and with the weight of the nation on his shoulders, Southgate saw his attempt saved, and when Andreas Moller smashed his past David Seaman, it was all over.
In a mark of his mental fortitude, Southgate starred in a Pizza Hut advert later that year alongside Stuart Pearce and Chris Waddle (who both missed penalties at the 1990 World Cup), making light of his very public blunder.
Next England manager after Southgate
Manchester City coach Enzo Maresca with Pep Guardiola.
It might feel to some like Southgate will never leave his post as Three Lions boss, but recent rumours and speculation have led some to assume he will simply saunter off into the sunset following next summer's European Championship in Germany. By that point, he would've been in charge for the best part of eight years, so who could blame him?
For all the differing opinions on his tenure as England boss, it is impossible to deny that he has overseen the best results the country has had in generations, so whoever comes in next will have a tough act to follow. However, if the rumours are true, his potential replacement should be just fine.
According to reports, the FA's 'dream' appointment in a post-Southgate world is none other than Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola. Now, it may seem like a pipe dream and eerily reminiscent of reports all those years ago linking José Mourinho to the job.
That said, with the Spaniard's contract set to expire in 2025, the Three Lions job could be a tempting prospect and a fresh challenge for a man who has won everything there is to win at club level.
Additionally, Guardiola's vocal support of Catalan independence essentially makes it impossible for him to take charge of the Spanish national team. So, were he interested in taking on a national team, England could scratch that itch.
Teams Gareth Southgate has coached
Aaron-Ramsey-Middlesbrough
Gareth Southgate started out his managerial career at Middlesbrough, where he landed the role back in June 2006. During his time at the Riverside Stadium, he was in charge of a whopping 151 games, which took him up until October 2009. But he was only able to lead Boro to a points-per-match average of just 1.21.
From here, Southgate stepped up onto the international stage, managing the England academy from January 2011 until June 2012.
After this, he took a period of around just over a year out of the managerial game before landing the England Under-21 job in August 2013. This is really where his managerial career took off, as he drew plenty of attention for his impressive leadership and management qualities, as the Under-21 side set things alight with a points average of 2.55 per game and winning the Toulon tournament in 2016.
Of course, this then led to him landing the England national team job just one day after leaving his position as the Under-21s manager in September 2016. And, you would have to say us fans have enjoyed a pretty good time of it in recent times.
Team Gareth Southgate supports
Southgate's book may give us a slight clue as to who he may support, as when Manchester United lost the FA Cup final against Southampton in 1976, he had this to say:
“I supported Manchester United, and experienced the excitement of following my team from one season to the next. I also had a taste of heartbreak when they lost to Southampton in the FA Cup final one year, and ended up bawling my eyes out.”
It’s unclear if he still supports the Red Devils, but one thing we do know is that the 53-year-old idolised Bryan Robson as a kid and wanted to follow in his footsteps.
Ottis Gibson put in a request with CSA to withdraw ‘key players’ early, but ESPNcricinfo understands that the board did not bring up the issue with the BCCI
ESPNcricinfo staff10-May-2019South Africa coach Ottis Gibson put in a request to withdraw “key players” from the IPL in early May to prepare for the World Cup. But Cricket South Africa (CSA) chief executive Thabang Moroe did not bring up the issue with the BCCI, ESPNcricinfo understands, worried of the consequences of doing so.A report by has suggested that the status of India’s scheduled tour to South Africa in 2021-22 may have prompted Moroe’s action – or rather inaction. A tour by India would provide a major financial boost to an organisation that has forecast losses of R 654 million over the next four years, with any change to the scheduling of such a lucrative tour likely to worsen those losses.Captain Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir, Quinton de Kock and Chris Morris – who replaced the injured Anrich Nortje in South Africa’s World Cup squad earlier this week – are all still in India, with du Plessis and Tahir both part of the Chennai Super Kings squad that will play in Sunday’s final against Mumbai Indians – for whom de Kock plays – after their six-wicket win over Delhi Capitals on Friday night.ESPNcricinfo LtdBefore the tournament started, CSA had confirmed to the BCCI that its players would be available for the full duration of the IPL. Gibson, however, had requested to CSA that key South Africa players part of the World Cup squad return in the first week of May, which would have likely ruled them out of the IPL playoffs.Kagiso Rabada was also part of Delhi Capitals’ squad until just over a week ago, when he returned to South Africa under something of an injury cloud, having complained of a stiff back and been sent for scans that prompted CSA to call him home. But it is also understood that the return of Rabada from the IPL was not a smooth process. The IPL is understood to have not thought his back issue serious enough to merit an early exit, but CSA’s medical team insisted he return to South Africa after Proteas physio Craig Govender, who happened – by chance – to be travelling through Delhi at the time, saw the scans. For his own part, Rabada said via social media channels that his return was purely “precautionary”.”Ipl was really fun!,” Rabada said on Instagram. “Extremely glad for the opportunity! Sad to leave but good to be home! Bittersweet. Regarding my back, I’m good – precautionary is all.”Imran Tahir is a photographer’s dream•BCCIAt the time of writing, CSA had not responded to ESPNcricinfo’s request for comment on the issue of Gibson’s request to have his players back early, though quoted a spokesperson as saying: “We are not aware of such a request made to the executive.””Our understanding is that, as is the case with New Zealand, the Windies, etcetera, we as CSA do our best to assist our players in maximising their IPL income,” the spokesperson added. “It is only Australia and England who can afford to pull their players out.”The members of the England squad who had been active in the IPL – including Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Sam Billings and Jonny Bairstow – were all directed by the ECB to return to England on or before April 26. The four members of Australia’s World Cup squad who had been part of the league returned by April 30.But, given that the IPL pays national boards a fee for each foreign player taking part in the league, and CSA’s precarious financial position, it was not in a position to risk ruffling any feathers by calling South Africa’s World Cup players back early. CSA said that “discussions” around the departure date of its players from the IPL were still happening in March, and by the middle of April, CSA told ESPNcricinfo, the plan was “for guys who make the final to join us on the 13th.”South Africa’s pre-World Cup camp begins on Sunday, May 12, the day of the IPL final that du Plessis and Tahir will be part of. South Africa will then depart for England on May 19.
An English Premier League attacker is keen on securing a move to Rangers, according to an update from journalist Sacha Tavolieri, with the player in question "proposed to the club".
Rangers transfer news
The Gers may have lost last weekend's Old Firm derby, but they still find themselves at the heart of the Scottish Premiership title race, sitting eight points behind their arch-rivals, but with two games in hand. Philippe Clement continues to do a good job since replacing Michael Beale, even if things haven't necessarily gone perfectly so far, and the future looks bright for the Ibrox side, who also remain in the Europa League.
For things to keep heading in the right direction, however, Rangers may need to bring in reinforcements during the January transfer window, and plenty of players have been linked with moves to the club.

Who is Philippe Clement eyeing up in the transfer window ahead of his first full season at Ibrox?

Everton duo Ben Godfrey and Mason Holgate have both emerged as potential options to further shore up the defence, while young Liverpool left-back Owen Beck is another player who has been linked with a switch to the Gers. The 21-year-old recently returned to Anfield after a loan spell at Dundee during the first half of the season.
While Rangers are showing an interest in bringing certain players to the club, it looks as though one individual openly wants a move to Ibrox, following a fresh update that has emerged.
Emmanuel Dennis wants Rangers move
Taking to X on Friday, reporter Tavolieri claimed that Emmanuel Dennis likes the idea of joining Rangers, with the attacker currently on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir from Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest's Emmanuel Dennis
"Emmanuel Dennis has been proposed to the club but there hasn’t been an official approach as of now. I can confirm the player’s interest for Rangers, though."
Dennis could be exactly what Rangers are after in the attacking third between now and the end of the season, providing them with the extra firepower that could be so crucial in the title race. The 26-year-old is someone with proven top-flight experience, scoring 12 goals and registering eight assists in 52 appearances in the English Premier League, with former Leicester City and Watford manager Claudio Ranieri has hailed him in the past, saying:
"[Dennis] is a very talented player. He’s fast, has good skill, always runs straight to the goal – I love these kinds of players."
Only Abdallah Sima and James Tavernier are in double figures for goals for the Gers in the Scottish Premiership this season, but Dennis is someone who could ease that goalscoring issue and make key contributions as the big matches arrive during the business end of the campaign, giving Clement a much-needed extra attacking option.

Dennis' aforementioned experience in British football means he shouldn't struggle with the pace of the Scottish game, and at 26, he is somebody who could be a force at the club for a number of years should he arrive on a permanent basis at some point this month, though a move seems some way off for the moment.
